The Finance team of RPS’ Services segment is looking for a proactive team member to provide management accounting and reporting support to the Management Accountants and Finance Business Partners. This position will ideally suit someone with a minimum Level 4 AAT qualification, with prior experience in a similar finance role.

This is a permanent job opening which will be based at Milton Park, Abingdon.
What you’ll be doing
* Preparation of financial statements for review and distribution to the Management Accountant to allow the monitoring of performance against budget on a monthly basis within set timescales including analysis of variances.
* Construction of monthly financial reports by undertaking the preparation and input of journal entries, preparing and actioning accruals and prepayments, analysis of output from the financial system and considering how best to structure the information for presentation to the Management Accountant.
* Assist in the production of detailed annual budgets and forecasts in conjunction with other Assistant Management Accounting staff. Review budgets throughout the year to ensure they reflect planned service levels and process and record budget amendments as necessary.
* Assist non-finance personnel resolve issues/queries on operation of RPS systems and other areas of the business.
* Assist the Management Accountants with adhoc reports and special projects including identifying trends and areas for process improvements.
* Work closely with shared services ensuring accounts payable and cash is posted accurately and timely whilst helping operations resolve shared services queries.

* Excellent IT skills, focused on providing clearly written material for distribution to various internal stakeholders.
* Experience of using computerised accounting systems preferably Oracle.
* Previous experience in a similar role. 1-2 years minimum.
* Highly experienced with excel.
* Minimum level 4 AAT qualification or equivalent/QBE.
