Hull University Teaching Hospitals NHS Trust
We are looking for a motivated and forward thinking nurse to join the Dermatology team based at CHH.
We are not a traditional out patient's clinic. It is a busy department with consultants, speciality doctors and clinical nurse specialist working together to deliver direct patient care.
We hold combined clinics with the plastic surgeons to improve and enhance the patient experience performing minor surgery for diagnostic and skin cancer purposes.
We also run a nurse led phototherapy unit, photodynamic therapy, patch testing, day- case clinic, phlebotomy clinic and leg ulcer clinics. Skin assessments, topical treatments and leg dressings are a major part of our workload and the successful applicant will be supported in all these clinical areas.
Applications from job seekers who require current Skilled Worker Visa sponsorship to work in the UK are welcome and will be considered alongside all other applications. You can determine the likelihood of obtaining a Certificate of Sponsorship for the post by assessing your circumstances against criteria specified on the gov.uk website.
Main duties of the job
The successful candidate should have a keen interest in the holistic care for patients living with a skin disease. They should possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Experience in dermatology would be desirable but not essential as 'in house' training will be given. A willingness to undertake further training is required.
This role within the Health Service as defined in the National Plan is focused on the delivery of high quality care ensuring a comfortable and safe environment for the patient.
The duties are varied and involve direct clinical patient contact requiring you to demonstrate excellent communication and interpersonal skills with an ability to function well within a team environment.
Hours of duty would be predominantly Monday to Friday with occasional weekend working to meet the needs of the service.
