RamsayHealth Care’s Woodland Hospital in Kettering, Northamptonshire hasa vacancy for a Pharmacy Technician/ACT to join their expandingteam in the Pharmacy department. This is an exciting role, within aunique Pharmacy environment, with opportunities for furtherdevelopment and offering a flexible working pattern of up to 30hours per week.

The hospital offers a wide variety ofspecialities and prides itself on providing a high standard of careto both patients and staff. The pharmacy department at Woodlandsalso supports the provision of medication at nearby GlendonHospital, which specialises in eye surgery and endoscopy.
Details of theposition:
As a keymember of the department, you will support the Pharmacy Manager andthe team in the provision of all pharmacy services, including, butnot limited to, ordering, stock control and preparation of drugsand medicines. You will be involved in staff development andtraining throughout the hospital, as well as supporting the teammake decisions and introduce innovative and streamlined processes.You will be working with a friendly and committed group ofcolleagues who consistently achieve the best outcomes for ourpatients and who are always looking to improve anddevelop.
Keyresponsibilities include:
Ensuring accurateand legal dispensing and issue of prescriptions for inpatients andoutpatients as specified in Ramsay Health Care Policies andProcedures
Undertaking duties in relation to themanufacture of pharmacy goods.
Supporting the pharmacistto ensure that Inpatient Prescription Record Charts are checkedregularly to ensure treatment is appropriate, both clinically andfinancially and that the patient has sufficient supplies.
Providing advice to patients/carers and clinical staff onpharmaceutical products.
Supervising, training andcoaching new staff if applicable
Ensuring that theagreed standards of patient care and confidentiality are maintainedin accordance with Ramsay policies
Adhering to GPhCstandards of conduct, ethics and performance
Totake part in weekend and bank holiday rotas on a rotationbasis.
The successfulcandidate will hold the following essentialqualifications/criteria:
NVQ3, BTEC inPharmaceutical Science or equivalent level
Member of theGeneral Pharmaceutical Council (GPhC)
At least 4 GCSEs(A-C), including English, Maths and Science or equivalentqualifications
Sound written and verbal communicationskills
Proven ability to work effectively in a teamenvironment and independently as required
Flexibilityand adaptability to meet the changing needs of the business
Demonstrated Customer Service skills
DemonstratedComputer Skills
It would also be desirable, but notessential, for the applicant to have experience working in ahospital environment
