The Manufacturing Efficiency Engineer will play a crucial role in sustaining the Industrial Engineering framework through metric management, project delivery, and colleague training & involvement, in line with the Manufacturing Strategy. This role requires a proactive, hands-on, and analytical approach to all aspects of operations across the site, ensuring that output, quality, and safety align with agreed performance levels. A key focus will also be on digitalisation and the integration and improvement of PCS to enhance manufacturing efficiency.

Lead improvement teams, including but not limited to cycle time analysis and benchmarks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Drive operational efficiency by analysing and optimizing production processes, reducing waste, and improving cycle times.
* Support the implementation of lean manufacturing techniques, maintaining manufacturing standards, and leveraging digital tools and PCS to enhance process control and automation.
* Define and track key performance indicators (KPIs) to measure efficiency, productivity, and quality.
* Lead improvement teams focused on cycle time analysis, benchmarking, and process enhancement using data-driven methodologies such as Six Sigma and Value Stream Mapping.
* Implement digital solutions for real-time monitoring and data analytics to improve decision-making.
* Manage and execute efficiency improvement projects aligned with the Manufacturing Strategy, including capital and non-capital initiatives.
* Lead digital transformation initiatives related to PCS integration and automation.
* Conduct root cause analysis and utilize digital quality control tools to enhance process reliability.
* Ensure compliance with Health, Safety, and Environmental (HSE) regulations and best practices, leading risk assessments and supporting site-wide safety initiatives.
* Facilitate workshops and Kaizen events, mentoring production staff and providing training on digital tools, PCS, and automation systems.
Decisions:
* Stimulating, encouraging & coaching plant operators to devise process & product improvements through face-to-face communications and by using Problem Solving on more complex issues.
* Carrying out process investigations & trials in the areas of plant efficiency & performance, wastage, time & motion, design & area layout.
* 5S implementation and control (site-wide standard).
* Understanding of focus & direction via OEE interrogation.
* Analysis of process VA, SVA, and NVA activities with the use of VSM / Process Flow.
Measures:
* Audit compliance scores – site validation (Internal & External).
* Health & Safety audit scores and accident statistics.
* KPIs (Cost, Efficiency) and performance assessments for production.
* Engagement: Key participant in the CI ideas scheme regarding submission of suggestions, selection for progression, and colleague feedback.
* Measure CI performance via the tracking and reporting of KPIs and communicate status to departmental managers and leadership.
* Project completion and effectiveness: Ensure projects are compliant with timings and deliverables are reached.
Key Accountabilities:
* Communicate with other functions to understand and ensure customer expectations are met.
* Ensure significant risks are promptly addressed and/or escalated to the appropriate level.
* Develop CAPEX budget justifications.
* Drive waste reduction plans (DOWNTIME analogy) and ensure their implementation and roll-out to the team.
* Monitor key trends and instigate timely corrective actions & recovery plans.
* Provide variance explanations and initiate corrective actions & recovery plans.
* Review and implement SICs, KPIs, and other key improvement tools.
* Conduct new trials relating to waste reduction while ensuring good communication is in place.
* Contribute to area improvement plans in conjunction with Mini Factory Manager(s).
* Stimulate and create opportunities through knowledge sharing.
* Organize time and determine workload priorities based on actions that provide the best return to the business.
* Ensure a focus by regularly walking and observing areas of responsibility within the working day (GEMBA).
* Deliver and support time & motion studies with a precise approach to work measurement and productivity improvement.
* Lead the delivery of the “CIP” Program(s) on-site, ensuring regular implementation and trend-focused prioritisation.
HSE
* Ensure personal and team adherence to HSE policies and procedures.
* Maintain a safe and risk-free workplace, promptly addressing or reporting hazards.
* Participate in Behavioural Based Safety (BBS) discussions and safety improvement initiatives.
* Follow Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Safety Working Practices (SWPs).
* Always Use appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
