We at EZ Car Care, located in Stockport (SK4 Greater Manchester), are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Laboratory Analysts & Formulations Technicians to join our expanding team. As a laboratory technician with a background in chemistry, you will support the formulation and blending team by providing comprehensive assistance in the chemistry laboratory. Your responsibilities will include preparing formulations, scheduling tests, dispatching samples, and performing general lab activities. Your expertise in chemistry will also contribute to various technology service areas.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Plan and conduct laboratory tests according to established procedures. Set up laboratory equipment, materials, and supplies prior to conducting chemical experiments.
2. Prepare and blend formulations following predefined systems and procedures, in line with deadlines and priorities, while developing knowledge in performance testing.
3. Maintain accurate records of results in notebooks and technology systems.
4. Run or schedule analytical tests (R&D, QA/QC) to evaluate performance and report data/observations.
5. Communicate effectively with internal contacts as necessary to carry out laboratory work.
6. Conduct activities that meet technical and quality standards with minimal supervision.
7. Support activities to ensure an effective production schedule, such as R&D and QA/QC lab operations.
8. Manage laboratory activities outside of regular hours to meet customer lead times and expectations.
9. Maintain analytical equipment to ensure it is fit for use.
10. Uphold safe working practices by preparing and applying COSHH and risk assessments.
11. Evaluate and interpret data, identifying non-conformances in product and analytical results.
12. Ensure that all work is carried out in accordance with Good Laboratory Practices (GLP).
13. Maintain a clean and organized working environment.
Candidate Qualifications / Experience:
1. Ideally educated to A-Level in Chemistry or an HND/BTEC/HTEC in a scientific discipline with a focus on chemistry, along with 2-3 years of experience in an analytical laboratory or a solid understanding of how analytical laboratories function. This position suits individuals with experience in a laboratory environment, although full training will be provided to the successful applicant.
2. Understand the role of Quality Control in analytical measurements.
3. Proficiency in Microsoft Office applications (required).
4. A high degree of numeracy is essential for laboratory operations and testing.
Job Types: Full-time, Permanent (Hours 9am to 5pm, Monday to Friday, in person)
Pay: 25K-35K Per Year based on previous similar position experience
