Job Title: Learning Support Assistant
We are seeking a dedicated and passionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at an Alternate Provision SEN school in Exeter.
About the Role:
The successful candidate will have experience working with challenging behaviours, be happy to work on a one-to-one level, and possess a full UK driving licence and access to their own transport. They will also have an enhanced child-only DBS or be willing to apply for one, and hold UK residency.
About the School:
The school caters to students with complex needs, including Behavioural difficulties, Anti-social and disengaged behaviour, and ADHD. The school boasts outdoor education trips, a school gym, and nurture rooms, making it an attractive draw for candidates.
Key Responsibilities:
* Support teachers and fellow support workers on a 1:1 or 2:1 basis with pupils
* Work within the classroom to engage students in focused classes, such as PSHE, Nurture Group, Land Based Studies, Food Tech, Drama, Photography, PE, and Technology
Requirements:
* Previous experience working with complex behaviour or challenging needs professionally or personally
* Experience in psychology, youth/community work, care work, mentoring, or SEN experience can be beneficial
