Blackwell Earthmoving Limited is seeking a dedicated and experienced Works Manager to join our dynamic project delivery team. As a key member of the project team, you will play a crucial role in the safe, effective, and efficient management of sub-contractors and BEL staff throughout the delivery of site operations. This role primarily involves bulk earthworks, along with logistics, planning of hauls, material storage locations, and other instructed scopes. Key Responsibilities: Manage and support Foremen, Supervisors, and operatives. Maintain detailed site diaries and ensure allocation sheets meet required standards. Monitor and record labour/resources, reporting directly to the Project Manager. Interpret and review construction issue drawings, develop method statements, and ensure adherence to procedures and specifications. Serve as the local authority for day-to-day control of people, equipment, and materials. Coordinate with Senior Management and Engineering teams to plan and execute work safely and efficiently. Knowledge, Skills, and Key Competencies Required: Essential: Demonstrable first-class approach to health, safety, and environmental management. Experience managing multiple foremen and sub-contractor groundworks gangs. Knowledge of material usage, machine/application matching, production outputs, and Series 600 Specification for Highway Works. Proficiency in using GPS machine guidance. Ability to work to a 3-week programme and understand quality requirements. Professional interaction with clients and robust defence of company interests. Leadership skills, visibility, and approachability. SMSTS qualification and minimum of CSCS Gold Card. Desirable: Ability to operate plant: Dumper, roller, and excavator. CPCS plant qualifications. SEATS (Site Environmental Awareness Training). First Aid and Mental Health First Aid certificates. CSCS Black Card. HSG 47 Cat & Genny trained with underground utility experience. Temporary works supervisor certification.
