Job summary Kettering General Hospital is seeking a dedicated Locum Consultant General Surgeon to join our dynamic team. In the role, you will deliver high-quality surgical services to both inpatients and outpatients, working collaboratively with fellow consultants to drive service development. This unique opportunity to play a key role in the growth of the general surgery department, with active participation in the on-call rota. Main duties of the job Provide comprehensive general surgical services, including elective and emergency surgeries, with a 1 in 8 on-call commitment for general surgery at Kettering General Hospital. Deliver outpatient services for new referral and ongoing patient care. Organise and participate in the teaching and training of resident doctors, medical students, and other healthcare professionals. Actively engage in departmental matters concerning clinical governance and audit, providing leadership and support for effective service development. Ensure active participation in Continuing Professional Development (CPD) and contribute to the development of clinical protocols, guidelines, and concise care pathways. Promote a safe and healthy environment for patients, visitors, and staff by attending relevant mandatory training requirements. Maintain effective multidisciplinary team collaboration and foster partnerships with all professional colleagues.
