Quality Engineer – £35,000 to £37,000 per annum
We are seeking an experienced Quality Engineer to join our client, a leading design, manufacturer and supplier of engineered products.
The successful candidate will play a key role in ensuring the quality and reliability of products, whilst also assisting in the ongoing development and implementation of robust quality control processes and procedures.
Main Responsibilities:
* Collaborate with cross-functional teams, customers, and suppliers to address and resolve quality issues, ensuring seamless communication and cooperation.
* Contribute to the continued development and implementation of quality control processes and procedures to ensure consistent excellence.
* Investigate and document non-conformance reports (NCRs) in line with company requirements, conducting thorough root cause analysis investigations to identify causes and implement corrective measures.
* Prepare detailed 8D, inspection reporting, process performance approval, and failure mode and effects analysis reports.
* Ensure products and processes comply with relevant regulatory requirements and industry standards, particularly ISO 9001:2015.
* Conduct internal audits according to the audit schedule.
* Participate in external audits at supplier premises to verify quality standards are consistently met.
* Monitor and analyse quality data to identify trends and areas for continuous improvement.
* Manage customer-specific projects, ensuring quality objectives are achieved within set deadlines.
* Provide technical support and advice based on engineering drawings and support quality assurance activities through SAP investigations.
* Conduct quality inspections internally and externally as required.
Requirements:
* Hold an engineering-based qualification with GCSE level education as a minimum.
* Experience in a similar Quality Engineer role with strong knowledge of ISO 9001:2015.
* A recognised Internal / External Auditing qualification is desirable.
* Ability to conduct detailed root cause analysis and implement effective corrective actions.
* Excellent verbal and written communication skills with the ability to engage effectively with all levels of the organisation.
* Good understanding of 8D / ISIR / PPAP / FAIR Reports.
* Proficient in Excel and Word.
* Previous knowledge of SAP is highly desirable.
