The project: A commercial manager at Hinkley Point C (HPC) plays a pivotal role in overseeing the commercial aspects of contracts related to the project. This position is essential for ensuring the financial and operational success of the contracts, contributing to the overall objectives of the HPC project. Advises on the issue of certificates and preparation of cost control and reporting services. You’ll be responsible for: Contract management: Oversee the commercial administration of contracts from pre-award to completion. This includes supporting the procurement process, ensuring successful contract awards, and managing contracts through their execution phase. Financial performance: Maximise operational and financial performance while minimising commercial risks. This involves detailed financial analysis, margin analysis, revenue forecasts, and cost management. Stakeholder communication: Communicate effectively with various stakeholders, including clients, suppliers, and internal teams, to ensure clear understanding and alignment on commercial matters. Risk management: Identify and assess commercial risks and opportunities, working with senior leadership to mitigate risks and capitalise on growth opportunities. Business development support: Collaborate with sales and marketing teams to develop commercial strategies that align with business growth objectives. Provide insights on market trends, customer needs, and competitive positioning. Reporting: Prepare commercial reports that track performance against targets and provide detailed financial analysis to support business decisions. You’ll need to have: Bachelor's degree in quantity surveying or a related fields Minimum of five years of relevant experience in a commercial or quantity surveying role on a major infrastructure project. Proven track record of managing commercial activities, pricing strategies, and contract negotiations. Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data and make strategic recommendations.
