SENIOR CLINICAL FELLOW IN OBSTETRICS & GYNAECOLOGY - SPECIAL INTEREST Maternal Medicine
We are looking for a Senior Clinical Fellow with competencies equivalent to ST5+ level in Obstetrics and Gynaecology, to join our dynamic team of Specialty Trainees as a Fellow in Maternal Medicine. The post holder will be one of the senior clinical fellows in the department and work on the Registrar rota with daytime and resident on-call commitments (1:9 2 tier registrar nights).
The post will suit a candidate who has ST5+ competencies and wishes to develop specialist knowledge and skills in Maternal Medicine managing women with chronic and acute medical problems in pregnancy.
Main Duties of the Job
The successful candidate will be encouraged to sign up for the RCOG Advanced Training Skills Modules (ATSM) in Obstetric Medicine. Additional training can be facilitated at tertiary centres to allow completion of the module requirements.
The post holder will participate in departmental teaching, audits, and governance meetings. There will also be the opportunity to take part in research and quality improvement projects.
The successful candidate will be expected to be part of the on-call (1:9 on-call nights and weekends) and elective rota to cover both labour ward/maternity and some gynaecology.
We are a district general hospital Obstetric and Gynaecology department with over 5000 deliveries per year. We aim to provide a high-quality service for our patients in line with the Trust philosophy of delivering patient care that is Safe, Caring, Responsible.
GMC Registration is an essential requirement for this post.

Job Responsibilities
There are well-established MDTs with several specialties such as gastroenterology and haematology which will provide the candidate ample opportunity to develop skill and competence. The fellow will work with their mentor Miss Ali to integrate maternal medicine pathways with A&E and the acute medical assessment unit, as well as provide advice for inpatients.
There will be protected time to attend maternal medicine and Diabetes clinics and local MDTs. Kingston Hospital is part of the hub and spoke model for Southwest London maternal medicine network, and the fellow will be expected to participate in regular MDTs and all network activities across the region.
