What you’ll be doing
As the lead brand strategist for EE, you will be responsible for:
Brand strategy development
1. Own and drive the EE brand’s long-term vision and positioning across all touchpoints. Lead the development of the brand strategy linked to product category and commercial growth strategies, target audience needs and market trends (6+12 months out)
2. Fully embed the brand strategy across the organisation, including influencing support & change required across different areas of the business to achieve business objectives & brand vision
3. Main interface across agency planning to deliver the longer term brand strategy across creative, media, owned channel journeys & brand experience
Audience development, data strategy & insight
4. Data lead audience sizing, profiling & understanding to get to deeper more meaningful insight that will drive the stories and solutions to drive the EE brand forward across the full ecosystem of the brand experience
5. Combine creativity and communications effectiveness through strong understanding of audiences, insight, data strategy and media thinking across all channels to lead communications strategy across paid, owned and earned channels
Development of a fully audience led and integrated 12+ month comms strategy across paid, owned and earned channels
6. Combine paid and owned communications touchpoints to create an ecosystem of brand stories & communications that lead our audiences on a journey to a specific brand outcome over time
7. Understand how we can both proactively communicate and respond to triggers of our audiences and the moments/times of the year that are most relevant to them
Lead on strategic brand transformation projects
8. Lead on bigger projects that impact the brand evolution & commercial growth outcome
The skills and experience you will have under your belt
Experience and Expertise:
9. Proven experience in a brand and communications strategy & planning role where you have successfully led cross-functional teams, developed large scale brand transformation strategies, and leveraged complex data to drive business growth
10. Creative/Media strategy & planning experience agency side preferred – with expertise leading an audience led comms approach in paid and owned channels
Skills:
11. Brand and communications strategy: brings a deep understanding of brand positioning, development and evolution
12. Story-telling with insight and data: strong skills building the case for change, drawing on insight, data and analytical planning techniques with the ability to translate complex data into clear, actionable insights for both senior leadership and cross-functional teams at all levels
13. Commercial acumen: ability to link business & commercial priorities through to brand and communications strategy
14. Master storyteller: strong interpersonal and communication skills with the ability to influence and align senior stakeholders and teams at all levels of the organisation
15. Data-driven: highlight analytical with a passion for data. Comfortable digging into the numbers and translating insights into actionable strategy
16. Proven influencer and change maker in a complex and fast paced organisation with many different stakeholders
17. Collaboration & Empowerment: a thought leader who can influence and motivate teams across the organisation to achieve successful outcome for the brand
