The Role
As the Headteacher of Arc School Ansley, you will be responsible for providing visionary leadership, ensuring the highest standards of education, and maintaining compliance with all regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of committed professionals, fostering a positive school culture and ensuring the best possible outcomes for all pupils.
Key Responsibilities:
* Lead and inspire the school community in delivering an outstanding educational experience for children with ASC.
* Ensure high-quality teaching and learning that enables all pupils to achieve their full potential.
* Promote a culture of high expectations, inclusivity, and respect.
* Develop and implement strategic plans that drive school improvement and innovation.
* Manage and develop a team of dedicated staff, ensuring continuous professional development.
* Work in partnership with parents, carers, and external agencies to support pupils' education and well-being.
* Maintain compliance with all regulatory and safeguarding requirements, acting as the Designated Safeguarding Lead (DSL) or Designated Safeguarding Person (DSP).
* Oversee financial and operational management, ensuring efficient use of resources.
* Build strong relationships with Local Authorities and other stakeholders to drive referrals and placements.
About You
We are looking for an experienced and dynamic leader with a strong background in special education, particularly in working with children with ASC and associated SEMH needs. The ideal candidate will have:
* Qualifications: QTS/QTLS, Degree, and NPQH (or equivalent leadership qualification). A qualification in SEND education is desirable.
* Experience:
* Proven leadership and management experience in a SEN school setting.
* A track record of successfully leading schools through Ofsted inspections and ISS requirements.
* Experience in curriculum development, behaviour management strategies, and staff development.
* Experience of working with therapeutic teams to support pupils' holistic development.
* Skills & Knowledge:
* A deep understanding of ASC and SEMH needs.
* Strong strategic and operational planning skills.
* Effective communication and interpersonal skills.
* Commercial awareness and experience in school financial management.
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.
