Our client is seeking an experienced Warehouse/Site Manager to join their team .
You will be responsible for:-
Managing Warehouse in compliance with company's policies and vision
Managing all areas with the warehouse, receiving, wrapping, picking, warehousing, and distribution functions.
Setting up layout and ensure efficient space utilisation.
Ensure all site property, equipment, and other assets are fit for purpose.
General duties:-
* Ensure adherence to the company's vision, values, policies, and procedures.
* Oversee the installation, testing, operation, maintenance, and repair of facilities and equipment as per business requirements.
* Work with approved suppliers to obtain parts and machinery.
* Ensure all site property, equipment, and other assets are fit for purpose in compliance with company standards and best practices.
* Review all functional activities, propose improvements, and implement them upon agreement to ensure continuous improvement through increased effectiveness, efficiency, and added value.
* Investigate, analyse, and implement corrective actions to resolve all site/engineering problems, eliminating unplanned downtime and continuously improving working practices.
* Plan, organize, and coordinate resources to meet order requirements for ongoing maintenance, equipment replacement, and unplanned issues.
* Provide training to operators on new machinery, utilising machinery documentation and SSOWs.
* Overseeing & managing all Receiving & Stock functions.
* Overseeing & managing all wrap functions.
Workforce
* Recruit, select, orient, coach and motivate employees.
* Communication with recruitment agencies to arrange and manage staff levels.
* Control absence and holiday approvals to ensure adequate cover. Plan work rotas, assign tasks appropriately and appraise results.
* Conduct employee appraisals annually.
* Ensure all staff have completed the training that has been set to them on Safety culture within the time frames allocated.
* Conduct team meetings / Briefings in a professional manner.
* Staff selection, arrange and conduct interviews to fill new positions within the warehouse.
Reporting
* Create & implement reports and statistics regularly & report findings to senior team.
Health & Safety
* Maintain standards of health and safety, hygiene, and security
* Initiate, coordinate, and enforce optimal operational policies and procedures.
* Adhere to all warehousing, handling, and shipping legislation requirements.
* Ensure that all warehouse safety inspections are completed on safety culture within the time frames allocated.
* Ensure all accidents & near misses are reported following the correct procedures.
Requirements & Skills
* Proven work experience as a Stock / Engineering Manager.
* Expertise in warehouse management procedures and best practices.
* Proven ability to implement process improvement initiatives.
* Strong knowledge of warehousing Key Performance Indicators (KPIs).
* Hands on experience with warehouse management software and databases.
* Leadership skills and ability manage staff.
* Strong decision making and problem solving skills.
* Excellent analytical, problem solving and organisational skills.
* Ability to work independently and handle multiple projects.
* Excellent communication skills.
* The ability to quickly learn technical terminology and processes
Experience
* Previous warehouse / engineering experience in a similar role would be beneficial.
* Experience using mintsoft applications & Zebra printers / Scanners would be beneficial.
Hours of work Monday to Friday 07:30 - 16:00 additional hours will be required during peak times.
