Role Description:
Kantar Media is a global leader in media research, specializing in audience measurement, consumer profiling, targeting with TGI, and advertising intelligence. Their expertise, scale, and technology help clients navigate the evolving media landscape. The Technology area within Kantar Media supports and innovates IT platforms globally for all business domains. The TGI Tech unit focuses on creating technological solutions for Kantar Media's TGI line of business. They are seeking an experienced IT professional to lead the TGI Technology unit.
As the Software Development Director for TGI, you will be responsible for planning and executing the TGI software development initiatives. In this role, and in collaboration with senior business stakeholders, you will be shaping the future of our software products. In the challenging landscape of ever-increasing data volumes and advancing technologies you will be leading a team of talented software engineers, managers and testers developing best-in-class solutions. You will report to the Senior Technology Director for Product Platforms, and you will develop your activities in close collaboration with Product Director, Operations Director and their teams.
Key Responsibilities:
* Strategic Planning: Develop and implement software development strategies that align with the company's goals and objectives.
* Team Leadership: Lead, mentor, and grow a team of software developers, fostering a collaborative and innovative work environment.
* Project Management: Oversee the planning, execution, and delivery of software projects, ensuring they are completed on time and within budget.
* Quality Assurance: Implement best practices for software development, including coding standards, testing, and code reviews to ensure high-quality outputs. Maintain ISO9001 accreditation.
* Resource Management: Manage and allocate resources effectively to meet project deadlines and business needs.
* Stakeholder Management: Communicate project status, risks, and issues to stakeholders, providing regular updates and seeking feedback.
* Keeping updated with emerging technologies and industry trends, evaluating their potential impact on the company's software solutions.
* Budget Management: Prepare and manage the software development budget, ensuring effective use of financial resources.
* Ensure that all software development activities comply with relevant regulations and company’s standards, policies and procedures
* Work closely with Cyber Security and Architecture domains ensuring their policies are implemented and followed
* Supplier management: Manage relationships with development resources and technology suppliers ensuring the supply meets the business needs
Required:
* Technical: Proficiency in multiple modern programming language, software development methodologies, and tools. Knowledge of modern cloud platforms, preferably Azure Cloud and Azure DevOps
* Project Management: Strong project management skills, with experience using project management software and techniques.
* Leadership: Proven ability to lead and motivate a team, with excellent interpersonal and communication skills
* Problem-Solving: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make sound decisions under pressure.
* Adaptability: Ability to adapt to changing business needs and priorities, with a willingness to take on new challenges.
* Technical Acumen: In-depth knowledge of the software development industry, including current trends and best practices.
* Risk Management: Knowledge and experience in risk management including Budget, Performance and Cyber Security
* Business Acumen: A deep understanding of the business goals and strategies of the organization to ensure that technology initiatives are aligned with overall objectives.
* Minimum of 10 years of experience in software development, with at least 5 years in a leadership role.
* Experience implementing solutions using AI technologies as well as familiar with Azure and/or GCP environments will be a valuable differentiator
* Experience in working in an international environment utilising the onshore/offshore resourcing model
