Wise Employment are looking for a Driver/Installer to work for a family run electrical company based in Plymouth. Our client is a local family run business who specialise in the supply and installation of electrical white goods and have been a focal point of the community for nearly 50 years. The local delivery teams are focused on delivery of large domestic electrical items, such as washing machines, fridge freezers, cookers and TV's to our local customers and then often completing a professional installation of these items in the customers’ homes. Duties will involve: Driving a 3.5 tonne vehicle from customer to customer Delivering heavy electrical goods into customers’ homes Manual handling of large appliances (manual lifting and using a sack truck or lifting straps) Adhering to all Health and Safety Procedures Report of accidents, product issues or damage Installation of such items as washing machines, built-in / integrated appliances (with housing with kitchen door attached to front), electrical cookers (built-in and freestanding), TV installs (including wall bracket fixing). Work as a team leader You must have a valid UK driving licence with no more than 3 points, no criminal convictions, be physically fit for heavy lifting, have good customer service skills, and a good knowledge of skills and procedures to install electrical appliances. 28 days leave per year. 8-hour shift / 5 days a week. 8am to 4:30pm You will work a cycle of 4 weeks in the form of Monday to Friday for the first 3 weeks, and then Tuesday to Saturday in week 4. Any extra hours worked are paid pro rata. Responsibilities: - Safely and efficiently operate a delivery van to transport goods to customers - Load and unload products from the van, ensuring proper handling and securing of items - Plan and follow the most efficient routes for timely deliveries - Communicate with customers to confirm delivery details and address any concerns or issues - Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including receipts and signatures - Adhere to all traffic laws and regulations while driving - Perform routine vehicle inspections and maintenance checks Experience: - Previous experience as a delivery driver is preferred - Familiarity with commercial driving regulations and requirements - Ability to drive and manoeuvre large vehicles, including vans - Strong communication skills to interact with customers and colleagues - Physical stamina for heavy lifting and loading/unloading of products - Knowledge of warehouse operations is a plus This is an excellent opportunity for individuals who enjoy driving, have good communication skills, and are comfortable with heavy lifting.
