The IET Power Academy is an important partnership between key companies and top universities. It supports the attraction, development, and recruitment of engineering graduates to engineering organisations involved with the application of electrical power, including power, rail, and aerospace companies What you’ll be doing As the Power Academy Senior Coordinator, you’ll be at the heart of managing and delivering the IET Power Academy programme. You’ll oversee all aspects of its operation from coordinating scholarships and liaising with partner universities and industry stakeholders through to improving and enhancing how we support and deliver our services. You’ll play a pivotal role in ensuring the Power Academy’s success by building relationships with partners, managing application processes, and supporting events like our summer seminars and workshops. Importantly, your work will directly contribute to nurturing future talent in power engineering, ensuring the programme runs smoothly and delivers impactful results. What we hope you can bring to the role We’re looking for someone with exceptional organisational and relationship-building skills. You’ll have experience in coordinating projects or programmes and be confident managing multiple stakeholders, both internally and externally. Your ability to oversee complex processes, aligning actions and driving initiatives forward will be key. As a strong communicator with great attention to detail, you’ll enjoy taking ownership of your work and contributing to initiatives that support the engineering community. A little more about the role Oversee and manage the day-to-day operation of the Power Academy programme. Act as the central point of contact for Power Academy partners, maintaining strong, collaborative relationships. Coordinate and manage the annual scholarship application process. Organise key partner events, including the Power Academy Summer Seminar and workshops. Support the Power Academy Executive and Council with meeting preparation, agendas, and minutes. Monitor scholar progress and ensure programme milestones are achieved. Collaborate with internal teams for marketing, promotion, and other activities. Support other IET awards and scholarships as required. A little more about what we’re looking for Proven experience in a coordinator or similar role, managing diverse stakeholders. Excellent organisational skills, with the ability to manage multiple priorities. Strong communication skills, both written and verbal, for engaging with partners and scholars. Experience in planning and running events, workshops, or seminars with the ability to manage meeting logistics, including agendas and minutes. Familiarity with or a strong interest in the engineering sector. Ability to lead initiatives effectively. A proactive attitude, with the ability to take ownership and drive progress.
