About this opportunity
As a Lawyer in the Children and Adults Legal Team, you will handle your own caseload of children social care work, which will include the preparation of cases before the Family Court (including advocacy) as well as the provision of legal advice and assistance across all levels of the local authority.
You will receive the support of experienced Legal Officers and Lead Lawyers whilst benefitting from overall supervision from the experienced Senior Lawyer for the team.
We are looking for qualified and admitted solicitors, barristers, or legal executives, ideally with experience and knowledge of children’s social care law. You may have experience in crime or family law with the determination to face challenges and adapt to an unfamiliar area of expertise.

*Choice of work base: Kendal, Penrith, or Barrow. The post holder will be expected to attend family court hearings in Barrow-in-Furness and Carlisle, including limited times in Workington, as required.
