Working with a leading engineering consultancy on the Hinkley Point C project, NRL are looking for a Fire Engineer to work on a permanent basis based out of Aztec West in Bristol.
The Role
1. Analyses the 3D model and identifies the various combustible materials present in each area
2. Performs temperature change calculations over time for a simulated fire (modelling of various situations using the MAGIC software)
3. Studies the risk of damage to certain systems (functional redundancy)
4. Monitors and includes in the models the changes issued by all the engineering teams (change of positioning of cable trays, electrical cabinets, ventilation ducts, etc.) Fire protection
5. Recommends protection solutions to prevent an outbreak of fire or to make it improbable and fire detection and firefighting methods for the quickest possible detection and response
6. Perform fire protection calculation using specific software
You will need:
7. Qualified to degree level or equivalent socialising in safety and/or fire protection technologies
8. Knowledge of ETCF (EPR technical code for fire)
9. Experience and knowledge of UK Fire Regulations including BS9999 is preferable
10. Calculations relating to fire protection and ability to work with calculation tools
11. Ability to propose fire protection and detection solutions
