You would be working for a business which is highly invested in technology, at the forefront of engineering developments and in an environment which truly has a family feel and everyone knows your name.
We require experienced Buyers / Senior Buyers to manage the workflow in our busy Procurement Team sourcing products, processes and services to support the business needs and to agreed deadlines.
You must be able to demonstrate:
* A minimum of 2 years of experience in a purchasing team within an engineering environment.
* A good understanding of engineering terms and processes.
* An ability to read and translate a technical engineering drawing and the associated processes.
* The ability to understand a commercial contract and be able to negotiate the salient points accordingly.
* Good Educational standard in Maths and English.
* A good level of IT literacy although training will be given.
* Used to working to AS9100 or ISO9001 standards.
Combined with this experience, it is essential that you possess:
* Honesty and integrity.
* The ability to organise your workload in a small team of purchasing professionals to support the business and complement each other’s workload.
* Organise internal stock transfers where sub-con processes are incurred.
* The ability to work effectively as an individual and as a member of a team, even when under pressure.
* Able to take ownership of department safe working practices and participate in health and safety audits. Report and/or resolve any perceived Health and Safety risks or breaches.
* Good negotiation skills and good organisation skills to maintain all projects in line with agreed timing plans.
* Flexible approach in order to meet tight deadlines.
* Willingness to work additional hours to fulfil the project requirements.
* Strong communication skills in verbal and written formats.
We are an out-of-town location with free on-site parking and easy walking access to shops, cafes and buses.
Positions are full time on-site.
