Job Title: Regional Sales Manager (Food & FMCG)
Contract: Full Time, Permanent
Salary: £50,000 + Bonus, Company Car & Extensive Benefits
Purpose of the Role: To maintain and develop the External Sales teams within the South Division (Midlands, South Wales & South West), with the aim of growing turnover and profit. Strong leadership and motivational skills are essential.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop and motivate External Sales teams through regular field visits, meetings, and performance appraisals.
2. Enhance high-level sales and account management skills within the team.
3. Understand the marketplace and customers' businesses and requirements.
4. Ensure the highest levels of customer care to offer a 'best in class' service.
5. Empower the Sales Team to achieve annual sales and margin targets.
6. Develop key accounts and monitor margins in line with guidelines.
7. Build and implement an annual sales budget and rolling sales forecast.
8. Assist in creating and implementing strategies for winning business opportunities.
9. Develop and nurture relationships with key contacts within direct and indirect channels.
10. Manage specified key and local accounts in the region.
11. Drive the Sales Team to achieve all targets and ensure sufficient, appropriately trained individuals are in place.
12. Update and approve new customers and review the customer database annually.
13. Ensure records, data, and information are constantly updated to exploit market potential.
14. Develop and implement agreed KPIs for the sales team.
15. Ensure the Sales Team records and reports on their functions/activities.
16. Spend a minimum of 1 day per week in the field with the Sales Team.
17. Establish, maintain, and improve procedures and work instructions within the Sales Departments.
18. Regularly check that customers' requirements are being satisfied and maintain professionalism in all company contacts.
19. Act as an ambassador for the client, promoting their services wherever possible.
20. Overall responsibility for the management and motivation of the external Sales team.
21. Liaise with the MD to enable joint ownership and responsibility of strategy and customers.
Job Requirements:
1. Strong background in people management

6. Extensive sales experience
7. Knowledge of bakery, food service, or good manufacturing operations
8. Strong negotiation skills with a proven track record
9. Excellent IT skills (proficient in Microsoft Excel and PowerPoint)

11. Exceptional customer service skills
12. Results-oriented with a positive outlook
13. Exceptional communication and deal-closing skills
14. Valid UK driving license
