About the Opportunity
We are currently seeking an experienced and passionate Director (Nominated Supervisor) to join the team on a full-time permanent basis!
Nestled in the grounds of the Kingsgrove–West Bexley Uniting Church, Uniting West Bexley Preschool has long been a part of our community, teaching young children the crucial skill of learning that will ease their transition to ‘big school’, and far beyond.
Our warm and welcoming service operates during school terms and provides stimulating indoor and outdoor environments. Our programs are designed to inspire your child’s desire to learn, embracing purposeful play and group activities that encourage their curiosity, confidence, creativity, and self-expression.
Uniting West Bexley Preschool is a 50-place preschool that has achieved a rating of exceeding the National Quality Standard. The preschool operates 8.30-4pm.
What you’ll be doing in this role
This is a great opportunity for a caring, nurturing, and experienced Early Childhood Teacher to become our nominated Supervisor. In this role, you will need the ability to inspire, motivate, lead, and maintain a positive learning culture for our dedicated and longstanding team of families and educators.
Your work may include:
1. Developing positive relationships that support children, their families, and the community.
2. Providing consistent and visible leadership in WH&S behaviours and actions within the team.
3. Contributing to the development, evaluation, and improvements to the service.
4. Commitment to providing and maintaining a safe and supportive work environment that is inclusive of all staff.
Who we’re looking for
1. ACECQA assessed ECT Bachelor degree qualification.
2. Excellent knowledge of the NQS, EYLF, and teaching pedagogy.
3. Previous experience in a leadership role as Centre Director is highly desirable.
4. Current first aid certificate or willingness to obtain one.
5. Valid Working with Children Check.
6. Excellent leadership and mentoring skills.
7. Demonstrates an understanding of governance principles and able to model best practice.
8. Able to establish, foster, and nurture collaborative partnerships with families and our local communities.
