Advert Teacher – Secondary (1FTE) (Temporary) Wallace Hall Academy Unpromoted Teacher Scale £33,594 - £50,589 We are seeking to recruit an enthusiastic and motivated teacher to help support teaching in Wallace Hall Academy. Our commitment to teachers is evident by the provision of high quality professional learning. We are looking to attract and appoint a highly skilled teacher at Wallace Hall Academy. The position is Temporary, starting in as soon as possible until 28 th March 2025. The teacher’s role may involve whole-class teaching, targeted groups or individuals and with a focus on raising attainment and achievement. Liaison with ASFL Teachers, Class Teachers and SLT to support students’ needs will be an important aspect of this position. Class cover to release other staff to undertake school work may also be part of this role. This position may also be suitable for teachers from the primary sector should they wish to apply. Wallace Hall is a rural school in Thornhill, which is situated 13 miles north of Dumfries. The secondary school roll is just under 550, the primary roll is 185 and the roll in our ELC is currently 50 pupils. In January 2010 we moved into our new school building which has excellent facilities. The school is now run as a 2-18 establishment with one Head Teacher. Our school motto is Together we grow, learn and achieve. All stakeholders were consulted on the values of the school. Our vision is to provide a safe, happy environment where all learners can enjoy the school experience and can be challenged and encouraged to meet their full academic and vocational potential. We enjoy a close partnership with our five cluster primaries. However, approximately 25% of our school roll comes from outwith our catchment area.
