The Role
Warehouse Shift Manager.
Reporting to the Operations Manager, the Warehouse Shift Leader will lead a team within the inbound operation, of circa 60 to 100 staff. You will ensure the team deliver a flexible and professional service to customers through top class housekeeping and health and safety procedures whilst providing operational excellence.
You should be an experienced and motivational leader, with a strong background in warehousing / logistics. The role will require you to work on an operational level, be visible throughout the shift and drive the team forward.
Responsibilities
Overall responsibility for the effective management of a shift within the inbound warehouse.
Running daily team meetings and conducting regular 1-2-1 meetings with Supervisors.
Working with agency partners to flex labour requirements to meet demand.
Dealing with any staffing issues across the shift.
Evaluating operatives to enhance their KPI performance, development and work productivity.
Addressing performance issues and making recommendations.
Ensure health, safety and environmental standards are clear, monitored and strictly followed.
Ensure your team is delivering to set targets.
Administration duties in support of running an efficient shift operation.
Requirements
Proven, significant experience in Warehousing / Logistics.
A strong team player and able to motivate others.
Proven previous experience as a manager, involving sizable teams.
The ability to train, coach and mentor others.
Excellent interpersonal and communication skills (written and verbal).
Able to perform multiple tasks simultaneously.
A quick thinker and problem solver, able to make fast, effective decisions.
Based in Hereford.
Shift work of 6am to 6pm, 4 on / 4 off.
Salary £40,900.
