SENIOR THERAPY ASSISTANT - Vascular and Amputee Service
Band 4, Part time: contracted to 33 hours per week worked over 2 alternating shift patterns.
week (1) - 4 week days (29.25 hours), week (2) - 4 weekdays and 1 weekend day (36.75 hours).
The post is based at Hull Royal Infirmary primarily.

This post supports the provision of a vascular therapy service to both inpatients and outpatients across Hull & East Yorkshire & North East Lincolnshire.
This posts will support the delivery of a pre and post surgical pathway for vascular patients. The successful candidates will assist in the delivery of effective and timely treatment to a wide range of patients presenting with functional and mobility problems. This will include assessment and assistance with personal cares, provision of wheelchairs and the completion of environmental visits. In addition the post holders will contribute to delivering pre and post operative education to patients who are to receive surgery.
As a Senior Assistant you will be responsible for the supervision and coordination of staff of a lower band and provide support to qualified Physiotherapists and Occupational Therapists both in direct patient treatment and non-clinical duties associated with the running of the service.
Applicants must possess NVQ level 3 in Care or equivalent and be able to demonstrate evidence of Occupational Therapy/Physiotherapy Assistant competencies; plus extensive experience/knowledge of patient conditions and therapeutic interventions. In addition you will be able to demonstrate excellent communication and organisational skills
