The Wallet & Payments Engineering team is looking for a Site Reliability Engineer responsible for an emerging team of SREs to design, deliver, and support the next generation systems powering Payments at Apple. You would join a complementary team responsible for providing scalability, reliability, and maintainability solutions for our ever-growing business and data processing needs. We are seeking someone interested in solving the most sophisticated and high-scale challenges in the world today.

This position forms part of a team operating global services, handling the requests of hundreds of millions of Apple customers. This kind of scale presents unique challenges. SRE teams at Apple support the full infrastructure stack, from individual API performance to network traffic management. Responsibilities will be both broad and deep. SRE teams are the backbone of Apple’s payment services including Apple Pay. Good ideas are heard and results are rewarded. Minimum Qualifications
1. Experience and proficiency in event-based and log-based monitoring systems, deployment tools, Unix, and AWS.
2. Experience supporting and scaling large enterprise applications in a critical 'follow-the-sun' environment.
3. Excellent code-debugging/optimization, analytical problem-solving, and analytical thinking skills.
4. Ability to clearly and accurately communicate day-to-day operations to ensure detailed hand-off to regional SRE teams.
5. Proven record of taking ownership of exciting problems and optimally delivering results.
6. Interest in designing, analyzing, and solving problems in large-scale distributed systems.
7. Application development experience in object-oriented and functional programming languages.
8. Drive high levels of engagement through discovery sessions, enablement, and solution positioning with executives and technical partners.
Preferred Qualifications
1. Prior experience in supporting large-scale banking or payment systems is a plus.
2. Expertise in API design and interface technologies.
3. Expertise with container platforms (e.g., Docker, or similar).
4. Expertise in monitoring, debugging, and code analysis (e.g., Splunk, Prometheus, Grafana, or similar).
5. Fast learner who is generous with their knowledge.
