Job Title: Joinery CAD Designer Location: Workshop based – Basingstoke Salary: Competitive Hours per week: 41.5 hours Minimum Requirements: High level competency in Sketch up and Auto CAD. You’ll join Saint John Architectural Interiors, a team that specialises in collaborating with architects, interior designers, and private clients to design, create, and install bespoke, high-quality interiors. To fulfil this role, we seek the highest skilled makers, to work with a diverse range of materials, including metalwork, leather, fabric, upholstery, and glass, always ensuring the most luxurious finish. All the responsibilities we’ll trust you with You’ll work alongside Saint John project teams, Cabinetmakers and sub-contractors producing fully resolved CAD drawings. You’ll oversee the manufacturing, finishing and installation of joinery projects following handover to both internal and subcontracted workshops. You’ll ensure designs are in line with tender allowances and specifications, to ensure budgeted costs and labour allowances are understood and to identify any risk to these. You’ll ensure designs, materials and finishes are appropriate, achievable and fit for purpose and to identify any potential risks. You’ll develop and present design concepts using 2D and 3D drawings packages You’ll work to client briefs to design kitchen, joinery, and furniture concept packages. You’ll possess strong written and verbal communication skills. You’ll have a strong understanding of and attention to technical and aesthetic detailing. You’ll be able to hand sketch to communicate initial design ideas. You’ll have extensive knowledge of materials, hardware, fittings and finishes. You’ll be able to demonstrate a good knowledge of the integration of metal work, AV systems, M&E and appliances.
