This role focuses on delivering External Assurance activities, particularly Customer Assurance, through bids & tenders, due diligence, audits, findings, and reporting, ensuring customer expectations are met within defined SLAs and deadlines. You'll play a key role in enhancing External Assurance operations, maintaining evolving customer expectations, and collaborating with Technology, Commercial, Legal, Data Privacy, and other business functions. Additionally, the role provides surge support for Supplier assurance activities.
How you’ll help us make health happen:
1. Execute the delivery of end to end customer IT requests, both as part of the onboarding and ongoing processes aligned to defined SLAs and quality expectations, including responding to questions, providing documentation and managing follow-up queries aligned to both Bupa and customer expectations.
2. Support Commercial and Tender teams with the IT component of Bupa’s new business opportunities including questionnaires, presentations and customer calls.
3. Support the end to end delivery of the IT components of customers audits, including planning, scoping, preparation, documentation, delivery and follow-up; in direct partnership with customers and internal Commercial teams.
4. Liase with subject matter experts to ensure information is gathered in a timely manner to ensure customer requests are correctly responded to and protect Bupa.
5. Support the delivery of BGIUK Technology Assurance function including reporting and prioritisation of individuals workload.
6. Develop and maintain customer-based content to improve the ongoing operation and delivery of customer IT due diligence, including internal knowledge base, whitepapers and product sheets.
7. Identify and support the delivery of enhancements to operations based on industry trends; evolving customer expectations; and experience, including the digitisation and automation of processes, documentation, and training & awareness.
8. Plan and manage the delivery of activities, including timelines, to ensure both internal and external timelines, and quality expectations, are fulfilled.
9. Participate at required meetings representing the BGIUK Technology Assurance function
10. Deliver other activities as directed including ad-hoc projects and Suppliers assurance activities.
Key Skills / Qualifications needed for this role:
11. Certified in relevant audit, risk and IT security certifications with one of the following: CISA, CISM, or CISSP.
12. The role requires good IT Security/Assurance, Audit, Compliance and Risk knowledge, experience of IT Risk and assurance frameworks, and control assurance assessments (e.g. ISO 27001, PCI DSS, CIS 20, NIST, ISACA IT Risk).
13. The role requires the ability to communicate and influence at all levels inside Bupa such as Legal, Data Privacy, Risk Managers or Business Stakeholders, as well as Bupa’s customers.
14. Extensive skills and experience across Assurance, Compliance, Risk or Information Security.
15. Knowledge of appropriate process and technical IT controls with a good understanding of effective controls vs ineffective controls.
16. Knowledge of Key performance indicators (KPI’s) and their role in effectiveness measurement; as well as effective management of SLAs as it relates to delivery of a service.
17. Experienced in carrying out IT controls assessments with skills in Cyber and IT Risk.
18. Experience of Assurance concepts preferably with internal IT Compliance or IT Control assurance experience.
19. Experience of Risk Management, preferably concepts and terminology, preferably IT, understanding the role controls plays in risk mitigation
20. Effective critical thinking and problem solving to ensure that operations are delivered to expected standards and defined timelines while ensuring that stakeholder expectations are managed accordingly.
21. Ability to switch between a flexible attitude to an obstinate attitude to ensure other parties views are considered but when being pushed to accept risky approaches or shortcuts these are denied.
22. Ability to maintain a high degree of confidentiality and attention to detail, even under pressure.
23. An ability to consider the needs and situation of the customer, subject to protecting Bupa whilst maintaining a polite and friendly approach leading to accomplishing the review.
24. Excellent written and verbal English skills
