* £8,482 - £8,904 per annum (pro rata, NJC scale points 11-14, hourly rate: £14.46 to £15.18)

The Role
As a Food & Nutrition Technician, you will play a crucial role in supporting our busy and vibrant Food & Nutrition Department. Working alongside teachers and students, you will ensure that practical lessons run smoothly and efficiently by preparing materials, maintaining hygiene standards, and assisting with administrative tasks.
Key Responsibilities:
* Prepare ingredients, equipment, and materials for lessons and practical examinations.
* Maintain high standards of cleanliness and hygiene across food classrooms.
* Manage and organise kitchen equipment, ensuring safe and proper storage.
* Assist in the preparation of teaching aids and resources.
* Monitor stock levels and assist with ordering supplies.
* Support teachers in maintaining a safe working environment, following Health & Safety protocols.
* Ensure all food safety and hygiene regulations are met, including stock rotation and allergy management.
* Provide technical support during practical exams and demonstrations.
* Complete administrative tasks, such as inventory management and budget tracking.
* Assist with Open Days and school events.

The Ideal Candidate
We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and proactive individual who thrives in a fast-paced, educational setting. About you:
* 5 GCSEs (Grade A* - C) including English and Maths.
* Knowledge of food safety, hygiene, and Health & Safety procedures.
* Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel).
* Strong organisational and planning skills.
* Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
Desirable:
* A Level or higher qualification in Food & Nutrition or a related field.
* First Aid certification.
* Experience as a technician in an educational or commercial kitchen environment.
* Experience in preparing and storing food resources.
* Experience in implementing Health & Safety guidelines in a workplace setting.
