Hourly pay rate: £11.44
We are looking for a compassionate and responsible female Personal Assistant (PA) to work with our 14-year-old daughter 2-4 times per month in our home located in Hassocks. She is a verbal teenager who communicates using key words or short sentences.
She has a warm personality and enjoys activities such as listening to music or stories from books, drawing for short periods, and jumping on an exercise ball.
She thrives in a clean and well-organized environment and can independently choose her meals and find where they are stored at home. She is very familiar with her space and feels comfortable in her surroundings. She has a close bond with our ginger mackerel tabby cat, who she loves to pet. They are great companions, except when our daughter gets a little noisy, which can be managed with simple calming techniques we are happy to teach you.
Responsibilities include staying with her and providing attentive care, ensuring her safety and well-being. Engage with her in her favourite activities, such as listening to music or stories, and encourage her creativity through short art sessions or physical activities like jumping on her exercise ball. She also likes going to the park and National Trust gardens. She can walk but may sometimes needs an adult to support by holding her hand. Help maintain a calm and positive atmosphere, supporting Alexa when she needs reassurance. Manage basic household responsibilities related to her needs e.g. warming up and giving food to her, clearing away after eating, tidying up toys/books after playing, assistance with toileting, putting clothes in laundry basket when changing. Bring her home from school on occasions.Respect and care for the family's pet cat as part of creating a warm and harmonious household. You should have a valid driving licence and your own car. Previous experience working with children or young individuals with special needs is desirable. A patient, caring, and understanding nature required plus an affinity for maintaining a clean, tidy, and organized environment.
