As a global leader in water management solutions, the company offers complete groundwater control and management services encompassing design, installation, and maintenance programmes to businesses throughout the UK and Ireland.
With sites across the UK and employing more than 70 staff, they work across many industry sectors and are proud to have been part of some of the largest infrastructure schemes across the UK, including Crossrail, the Channel Tunnel Rail Link, the London Olympic Park, Thames Tideway, and HS2.
The Role:
The principal function of the Project Manager is the on-site implementation of groundwater control schemes for projects you are responsible for. This will include a split of approximately 3 days on site and 2 days in the office, with responsibility for effective client communication, commercial management, technical success, and profitability.
Duties include:
* Operational and Commercial Project Management duties.
* Delivering contractual obligations as directed by the contracts manager.
* Supervising site activities and closely liaising with the client's site staff, supervisors, subcontractors, and suppliers.
* Maintaining a good quality documentary record of contractual activities including the collection, collation, and presentation of monitoring data.
* Performing project management and dissemination responsibilities, including drafting of regular progress reports as required and participating in both internal and external project meetings.
* Preparing Method Statements, including working drawings and works procedures.
* Appointing and briefing the site teams, including specialist subcontractors.
* Defining the project programme and ensuring contractual targets are met.
* Preparing, issuing, and negotiating monthly payment applications.
* Undertaking business development activities for new projects, including site visits to collect information and discuss client requirements, pursuing tenders, and assisting in the preparation of tenders & quotations.
* Taking responsibility for your own health and safety and preparing Risk Assessments for site activities.
* Briefing, checking, and auditing site staff to ensure safe working practices are being followed.
* Directly line managing site and monitoring staff.
The Candidate:
To be considered for this position, you must be able to demonstrate strong civils and/or geotechnical skills, with experience of project managing construction sites in the UK, particularly with regards to excavation, piling, ground control schemes, or similar.
We will also consider candidates from construction and/or civil backgrounds, preferably with knowledge of dewatering.
The role is a combination of site and office-based within the UK, with occasions where you will need to work outside the UK at one of the overseas branches either in an advisory capacity or to give or receive training or provide support. It will also require the ability to work on site, access shafts, and walk along tunnels, so you must be comfortable with this.
In addition to the above, the company offers an extensive training and development program upon completion of the probationary period, which includes undertaking training courses suitable for the progression of your career, including PRINCE2 foundation and practitioner or similar.
With interviews taking place imminently and an immediate start available, do not hesitate to apply if this is of interest. Send a CV directly or call (phone number removed) for a confidential chat.
