We are excited to offer the opportunity join us to develop and deliver our Emergency Planning Service.
This vital service steps in and helps lead the Council’s response to emergencies such as water shortages, flooding or large fires. Working with our inhouse teams, our agency partners and local communities we aim to have robust community resilience and effective and well-rehearsed plans to action in an emergency.
Planning and preparation for adverse events is vital and this is where you will ensure the Council, and our communities are able to respond and work in partnership to reduce the impacts of future emergency incidents.
Who we are looking for
Previous experience of Emergency Planning is essential to ensure we are prepared to withstand, respond to and recover from future incidents which may occur.
You will be enthusiastic, a good communicator, self-motivated and proactive: someone who can demonstrate initiative, problem-solving, effectively prioritise, work to deadlines, and manage a wide range of tasks.
You will also need to be confident in working alone, with senior officers, communities and with multiple partner agencies, as well as delivering presentations and training.
You will lead on the co-ordination of emergency planning and business continuity across the Council, providing support and guidance to officers and our communities.
