An exciting opportunity awaits an experienced and ambitious Data Centre Engineering Contracts Manager to lead one of the UK’s largest domestic data centre engineering and maintenance contracts. This role sits at the heart of the data centre and critical engineering sector — a fast-growing, high-performance industry that powers the digital world.
Ideally we are looking for a technically minded management candidate someone who has past experience of working within a DC / Mission Critical environment, SAP / High Voltage would be a massive advantage and also a technical qualification is essential – Leadership and strength in management processes, responsible for a team of approximately 11-14 People, Profit and Loss and Financial responsibility for the contract.
The role oversees a site team of 11 which includes :- Contract Support, Engineering Supervisor, Engineering Manager, Shift Technicians/Leads.
Operational management experience leading a team is essential, owning a contract with regards to P&L preferred.

Your Mission:
Lead and elevate a high-value, high-visibility contract within the UK’s mission-critical infrastructure space. You’ll be responsible for operational excellence, team leadership, strategic client relationships, and full financial performance.
* Manage and optimise a flagship engineering contract in a live data centre environment.
* Ensure full contractual compliance while driving service innovation and operational improvements.
* Interpret and analyse service agreements, negotiate terms, and manage supplier relationships.
* Oversee proposals, contract renewals, and performance-based initiatives.
* Provide leadership and direction to an experienced engineering team and specialist contractors.
* Own and deliver contract financial performance, including budgets, forecasts, and reporting.
* Engage closely with the client, building trust and alignment at every level.
* Foster a safety-first, high-reliability culture across the operation.
What We need for the Position.
* Proven experience in contract or operations management, ideally within data centres, critical systems, or technical facilities.
* A relevant degree or equivalent professional background.
* Strong understanding of commercial contracts, business law, and compliance frameworks.
* Excellent communication and negotiation skills with the ability to manage stakeholders at all levels.
* Financial fluency, with the ability to analyse and deliver against complex commercial objectives.
* A collaborative leadership style with a passion for team development and operational excellence.
* Proficiency with Microsoft Office and contract management tools.
