Primary Accountabilities:
1. Ensure hygiene excellence by optimising standards using Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Cleaning Instruction Cards (CICs).
2. Improve product quality and yield performance through stringent hygiene practices.
3. Lead and develop a high-performance team, focused on continuous improvement, safety, and employee engagement.
4. Implement cost-saving measures and drive lean processes.
5. Oversee health, safety, and wellbeing initiatives, ensuring compliance with regulations such as COSHH.
6. Maintain an audit-ready environment at all times.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver site and business objectives, ensuring industry-leading practices are adopted by your team.
2. Serve as a key member of the site's HACCP team, maintaining and improving hygiene schedules and risk assessments.
3. Lead hygiene audits, inspections, and visits for your team's shift.
4. Drive continuous improvement in hygiene standards, ensuring all cleaning processes comply with BRC, retailer, and industry requirements.
5. Train and develop your team in hygiene practices, ensuring robust record-keeping and compliance with COSHH regulations.
6. Effectively manage budgets, including chemical suppliers and team labour, while ensuring all workspaces are safe and well-maintained.
7. Monitor and report on hygiene performance, working closely with the technical team to meet [GMP] standards.
8. Empower your team to contribute to continuous improvement efforts, fostering a culture of excellence and customer focus.
9. Ensure all Health & Safety and Human Resources documentation is accurate, up to date, and regularly reviewed.
10. Support the wider team by attending meetings outside of shift hours as required, conducting investigations, and managing disciplinary procedures up to final written warnings.
Performance Indicators:
1. Achieve a minimum of 90% on hygiene audits.
2. Maintain labour productivity and manage agency utilization effectively.
3. Ensure all SOPs and CICs are current and applicable.
4. Deliver on personal development reviews (PDRs) and ensure high safety performance.
5. Meet all additional operational KPIs as outlined by the business.
Communication & Collaboration:
1. Provide clear, consistent communication with team members and stakeholders, including nightly reports and regular team briefs.
2. Actively participate in business meetings and provide feedback on team performance.
3. Promote and embody the company's vision, values, and behaviors.

2. Manage the continuous development of team members, ensuring a strong succession plan and reducing staff turnover.

Key requirements:
1. Min 3 years' experience in a similar role
2. Min 3 years' experience managing a team within a challenging environment
3. COSHH Trained
4. FLT Trained
5. HACCP Level 2
6. First Aid trained
The role includes:
1. 5 days in 7, 40 hours per week
2. £50,000 per annum (depending on experience).
