We are looking for a Lead Test Engineer to join our community of tech experts in DWP Digital.
You'll lead some of our test engineering teams, supporting projects, programmes and live services across our digital landscape. You'll help define what mean by test engineering in DWP and positively impact millions of UK citizens by ensuring robust services which really work.

What skills, knowledge and experience will you need?
1. Experience testing in complex enterprise voice domains, supporting new projects and maintenance of solutions including software & hardware
2. Excellent communicator who can coach, collaborate, influence, develop and lead multiple diverse teams.
3. Influencing decision makers and key stakeholder to help support and define the strategic vision of solutions.
4. Knowledge of a programming language (such as Java, JavaScript), technology, and general testing engineering frameworks and tools including voice applications testing tools such as Cyara, Empirix, Nectar CS.
5. Ensures that both functional and non-functional needs are embedded in the development & testing of solutions
6. Ability to understand, review and implement the latest practices, principles, and processes, driving towards whole team quality.
You and your role
As a Lead Test Engineer, you will be leading multiple teams of test engineers across a plethora of projects, programmes and live services as part of our Digital Channels team.
This is a large-scale programme which will transform how users interact with DWP.
Our role is to transform the way in which we interact with Customers and then to provide a safe, cost effective service for them through our brilliant front line colleagues. Our vision is all about "Connecting our customers whilst transforming our services".
We focus on a number of key themes, such as:
7. Migration to Digital interactions from Paper interactions.
8. Introducing new channels such as WebChat, Email and SMS - increasing first contact resolution.
9. Improving the overall efficiency of the Department by enabling new capabilities.
You'll be developing robust test strategies to ensure effective and efficient testing on these new and updated products, and liaising with our wider test and digital community to lead on best practice and shared strategy.

Location: You'll join us in one of our brilliant digital hubs in Manchester, Birmingham, Blackpool, Leeds, Newcastle or Sheffield, whichever is most convenient for you.
Hybrid Working: We work a hybrid model - you'll spend some time working at home and some time collaborating face to face in a hub.
Pay: We offer competitive pay of up to £87,740.
Pension: You'll get a brilliant civil service pension with employer contributions worth 28.97%, worth up to £22,466 per year.
Holidays: A generous leave package starting at 26 days rising to 31 days over time.
