Reporting into the Director of Housing, you will be a pivotal member of the Senior Management Team. This is an opportunity to play a leading role in revolutionising the council's approach to housing and shaping the future of our landlord function.

You will have extensive experience of providing strategic and operational leadership for the Housing Management services, within a council setting, ensuring compliance with regulatory standards, relevant legislation, and Government guidance.
Your Role as Interim Head of Housing Management:
1. Act as the strategic lead for tenant empowerment and engagement, ensuring a strong customer voice influences service design, development, and improvement.
2. Be responsible for services that deliver the Council’s ambitious, resident-led plans, underpinned by the Council’s values, and provide Housing Management services to customers/residents that are the best in the country.
3. Plan, control, and deploy financial, staffing, and physical resources effectively to deliver agreed service priorities and continuously improve service quality for the benefit of customers.
4. Collaborate with external partners and develop negotiation strategies to produce an integrated and coordinated multi-agency approach across service delivery.
Your previous experience as Interim Head of Housing Management:
1. Possess a Level 5 qualification or equivalent level of knowledge and experience, with the ability to demonstrate a detailed understanding of legislative frameworks and statutory requirements related to modern Housing Management.
2. In-depth understanding of the political context and local government operations, including applicable laws and regulations.
3. Thorough understanding of current and future issues affecting social housing, including the Regulation of Social Housing framework.
4. Ability to apply knowledge of legislation across various fields, including housing, care, mental health, and mental capacity.
5. Knowledge and experience in safeguarding and health and safety.
