Duties: Plan, execute, and supervise projects to meet development department objectives, ensuring delivery within quality, budget, and schedule. Collaborate with various departments to ensure seamless coordination and successful project implementation. Track project progress, set deadlines, and identify potential risks, taking responsibility for completing project work in line with the plan. Monitor and optimize resource allocation and manage dependencies across projects for efficient execution. Effectively manage change within projects, anticipate and address potential roadblocks, and implement strategies to mitigate risks and maintain project momentum. Manage stakeholder relationships, including cross-functional teams, clients, vendors, and senior executives, ensuring effective communication and alignment throughout the project lifecycle. Actively seek opportunities for process improvements, promote a culture of continuous learning, and implement best practices to enhance project management effectiveness and efficiency. Responsibilities: Meet with management to identify project requirements, delivery timelines, resource allocation, and costs. Management of engineering changes and cost-down implementation through suppliers and production environment. Develop detailed project schedules and Gantt charts to guide project teams, revising them as needed based on changing requirements. Coordinate the project team, ensuring alignment, motivation, and effective communication. Controlling and ownership of prototypes including ordering, managing builds and organizing testing. Communication and liaising with major external stakeholders. Adhere to the company's product development tollgate process, ensuring that all required gates and checkpoints are properly followed and documented. Compile and submit comprehensive project status reports to management, providing updates on project milestones, risks, and achievements. Develop effective communication skills to liaise efficiently with all project stakeholders. Conduct project closeout activities, evaluating successes and challenges to facilitate learning for future projects. Skills, know-how & experience: Essential Possess experience in new product development projects within a regulated industry. Undergraduate Degree in Mechanical Engineering or other equivalent technical / science engineer subject. Experience overseeing multi-function teams, with a proven record of successfully delivering multiple projects simultaneously. A "hands-on" attitude to removing obstacles within projects and a willingness to become involved in associated support activities where applicable. Solid understanding of development lifecycle models both Agile and traditional, with the in depth understanding needed to blend them to deliver highly regulated medical devices. Experience motivating teams and maintaining momentum during peak output periods. An understanding of the need to balance quality and delivery, and the ability to fully understand the effectivity of the team and plan a sustainable pace for the projects. Desirable Hold a Project Management qualification Experience with injection molding and tool management Experience of change control management Proven track record of launching product in CE and/or medical territories. Proficient in Microsoft Project or other project management software. Other attributes: Innovative and creative problem solver. Strong understanding of, and demonstrated experience in using appropriate tools for effective project management. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
