Our Water & Utilities consultancy client are seeking an experienced Quantity Surveyor to join their team on a permanent basis working on a prestigious water sector project based in Havant.
This is a site-based role, and the ideal candidate will have a strong background in quantity surveying, with specific experience in NEC contract management.
Responsibilities:
Manage all aspects of the quantity surveying process, including cost estimation, budgeting, and financial reporting.
Prepare and maintain accurate project cost plans and forecasts.
Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to ensure project objectives are met.
Monitor project progress and financial performance, identifying and mitigating risks.
Conduct value engineering and cost analysis to optimize project expenditure.
Prepare tender documentation and assess contractor submissions.
Negotiate contracts and variations with contractors and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with NEC contract requirements and relevant legislation.
Maintain effective communication with all project stakeholders.Skills/experience/qualifications
Relevant degree in Quantity Surveying or a related field.
Minimum of 3 years' experience in quantity surveying, ideally within the water sector.
Strong experience with NEC contracts is essential.
Excellent analytical, numerical, and problem-solving skills.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team in a site-based environment.
Strong communication and negotiation skills.
Knowledge of relevant health, safety, and environmental regulations.Benefits
