Job Title: Tax Advisor
Job Type: Contract Part-Time (4-6 months)

Day Rate: £320 PAYE (4 days)
Opportunity Overview: A fantastic opportunity has opened to temporarily join my client, a multinational mining company, as a Tax Advisor.
Role Objective: The Tax Advisor works with the Tax Manager to deliver the strategic support of the companies UK & Corporate and E6 global tax affairs, support the Innovation Strategic Goal led from the UK and support the UK elements of the B&CM strategic business projects.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Drive Group/BU Tax strategic initiatives and support in project delivery to create / protect / enhance value from a tax perspective for my client in the UK with the Tax Manager - Business Partner.
2. Support the development and delivery of the tax strategy for the E6 group in line with my client’s tax strategy and tax operating model but reflective of the strategic direction, facts and circumstances of the E6 group.
3. Proactively support and partner with Element 6 business and the Innovation Strategic Goal Leads across the business (including the Element Six Executive Committee) and within Group Tax function with the aim of creating sustainable value for my client and leading change.
4. Support tax advisory to Element Six and for my client’s Strategic Innovation projects to achieve an optimum outcome for the Group, enhancing business efficiency and improving business results, and proactively manage tax risks.
5. Support the management of cross border tax issues for Element Six. Work with a network of local tax advisors, internal Group Tax network (including Head of International Tax, Projects) to support Element 6 activities.
6. Review transfer pricing arrangements of the Element Six business to ensure compliance with local tax regulations and Group Transfer Pricing Policies. Partnering with Group Transfer Pricing SME and Tax Operational Excellence team implement simplified transfer pricing policies to drive efficiency and manage risk.
7. Advise and influence Tax Manager - Tax Business Partner and Head of Tax on all matters relating to Element Six and Innovation.
8. Providing ad-hoc inputs from business partnering perspective to support Tax Operational Excellence teams on program of innovation and simplification - identify opportunities to automate or outsource low value routine work.
9. Maintain the tax budget for support of my client in the UK, Element Six and Innovation and support the creation of the B&CM tax budgets.
Requirements:
1. Either a Chartered Accountant or equivalent accounting or legal degree.
2. A good working knowledge of international tax principles.
3. Good awareness of transfer pricing would be an advantage.
4. Ability to influence people, manage change, and effectively communicate ideas and solutions to senior management.
5. A solid, proven track record of having worked in a similar role in the taxation field in industry itself, and/or in practice working closely with clients.
6. High level understanding of tax concepts and laws.
7. Ability to strategically develop and implement a project plan.
8. Demonstrate well-developed analytical, planning, and problem-solving skills.
9. Demonstrate a high degree of commercial acumen.
10. Manage multiple tasks concurrently and work to deadlines.
