We put people at the heart of banking, helping Tasmanians realise their dreams through home ownership and financial security.
Established more than 150 years ago, we are the nation’s longest-operating customer-owned bank. We’re truly Tasmanian, and the profits we make go back into the business, not to shareholders, so that we can continue to deliver on our promise of competitive products and personal service to our customers.
Over the years we’ve remained true to our original purpose of getting Tasmanians into homes. We see years more growth ahead and we plan to do that right here in Tasmania. To help us achieve this, we’re looking for talented, passionate people to come join our expanding team.
So, how will you contribute to our mission?
In this newly created role, you’ll work closely with the Compliance Team to assist with the development, maintenance and monitoring of Bank of us compliance programs and frameworks to support compliance with current and future regulatory and prudential requirements. This will include:
* Providing support to the Compliance Manager and Compliance Specialist in all aspects of compliance including administration, record keeping and project work, as required.
* Acting as the first point of reference for day to day compliance matters, and escalating matters to other team members as required.
* Assisting the Compliance and Risk teams to enhance the risk appetite and compliance consciousness among internal staff.
* Providing input to the development, maintenance and update of compliance programs, policies and training in respect to our compliance and prudential obligations.
* Assisting in managing, maintaining and developing new and existing compliance activities, registers, data capture processes and reporting.
We are looking for someone who Lives it, Loves it and Owns it in-line with our organisational values and behaviours. You’ll bring enthusiasm to the role, have a professional manner in which you conduct your duties, the ability to build strong relationships with all teams across the organization, and be eager to learn.
Ideally, you will also have previous experience in a corporate environment, knowledge of risk management fundamentals including banking compliance requirements, and a relevant tertiary or formal qualification or professional membership in commerce, risk management, and/or compliance; however, this is not essential. This opportunity would be well suited to a recent university graduate and provides the perfect opportunity to kickstart your career in compliance and banking!
You & us...

Since we’ve been around for a while, (since 1870) we know how to treat our people right. You’ll love working with us and experiencing a great work-life balance, with flexible arrangements, professional development, and a positive organisational culture that recognises and rewards contributions.
Does this sound like you? We’d love to hear from you!
