We have an exciting opportunity for a passionate individual with a commitment to animal welfare to join our team of Canine Carers to work in our busy Rehoming Centre.
We’re looking for a Canine Carer to provide the highest levels of care and welfare management to dogs in the rehoming centre; working towards preparing them for rehoming and ensuring the most suitable home is found for each dog.
About this job:
As a Canine Carer, you’ll:
* Provide exemplary daily care for the dogs in our Rehoming Centre, working to Dogs Trust's code of practice and Health and Safety guidelines.
* Educate potential new owners and the general public in the care and welfare of their dogs.
* Establish excellent customer relations for the centre.
About you:
The successful candidate will be an excellent communicator with the ability to show empathy to both people and animals. A strong team player, you'll have lots of energy teamed with a positive upbeat attitude. Experienced in working with or handling dogs, you'll be knowledgeable in basic behaviour and health issues and above all committed to the aims and objectives of Dogs Trust.
What you need to know:
A full, manual driving licence is essential, as driving will be a part of the role. Working times are Monday to Sunday on a rota basis including one weekend, with shifts between 8am-4.30pm (subject to change and will be clarified during interview).
