Today it specialises in frozen savoury and sweet bakery products, as well as ready meals for retail and foodservice Working Hours: Monday – Thursday, 8:00 – 16:30 and Friday, 08:00 – 15:30. This is a full time, fully site-based role. Salary: £45,000 – £50,000 Job Purpose To manage the overall production plans for both the savoury/ready meals and sweet bakery factories across all frozen and chilled product sectors. Key Duties, Responsibilities & Accountabilities Ensure a safe working environment for all employees, visitors, and contractors within the production facilities, by strict enforcement of health and safety policy Ensure our overall planning approach optimises production run lengths/SKU stock levels whilst minimising working capital exposure and maintaining optimum customer service levels Produce a weekly production plan and detailed schedule for both factories that respects the available capacities and the required technical, food safety and hygiene policies as well as external accreditation and customer specific standards/specifications. Work alongside the Raw Material and Replenishment Manager to ensure that required amounts of raw materials and packaging are available on time and in full for every weekly production plan Be fully up to date with all the latest operational KPI’s by line/SKU (e.g. %OEE waste) Regularly liaise with the logistics & transport manager to ensure that the appropriate distribution arrangements are in place to deliver all required customer orders. Attend daily senior operations meeting and report on performance to plan together with associated actions to adjust for any under/over performance. Manage and facilitate weekly production plan sign off meetings Work with the new product development (NPD) team to ensure that all agreed EPD/NPD projects are delivered on time, to agreed customer brief/expectations and in the with anticipated product cost standards. Work with the site director to deliver any business capital projects Food safety and quality responsibilities including locker searches and working closing with the Technical team to account for food safety and quality in department People management responsibility including recruitment, team development, performance, and investigating absence and disciplinary when necessary Knowledge, Skills, And Experience Proven experience of managing a complex production planning facility. Extensive knowledge of planning tools and creation and development of any tools utilised in the planning process. Proven ability to plan, organise and communicate. Extensive knowledge of ERP systems and their functionality. Ability to analyse and present operational KPI’s. Good level of numerical skills. High level of IT skills (e.g., word/excel/PowerPoint/outlook) Energy drive and determination to succeed. Ability to build strong working relationships external & internal colleagues. Proactive nature, willing to learn quickly and to take new challenges. Attention to detail. Good interpersonal and communication skills with internal and external contacts.
