The Event Technician will join the Williams STEM Team to deliver industry-leading STEM experiences to youth visiting the Williams site in Oxfordshire. The Williams STEM program is an exciting new venture, aiming to teach children about STEM concepts and careers while building the next generation of Williams fans. As the Event Technician, you will lead the Esports segment of the STEM Program, teaching the students about Esports and helping them get situated in the Esports simulators to experience driving for themselves. You will also support other general event logistics throughout the day to ensure the STEM experience runs smoothly. Outside of the STEM program, you will ensure the Esports simulators are properly maintained and in full working shape. This role will play a key part in delivering the STEM program, enhancing the Williams brand experience and reputation. Main duties: Co-ordination and delivery of events taking place in the Williams Esports Lounge and Activities Room Provide a compelling overview of F1 Esports as an industry to participants Ongoing maintenance of the sim racing hardware and software in the Esports Lounge, including sourcing, repairs, replacements, and upgrades of all equipment Hands-on, front-of-house event and guest management for corporate, public and internal events in the Williams Experience Centre Supporting with bookings and administration for events using the Esports and Activities facilities Occasional support for the Esports team with activity in the facility as required, for partner events, driver training camps, media and sponsor events, and content production Liaise with third party agencies and suppliers, building strong working relationships and managing output Supporting the wider Experience Centre Team with events as required Act as a brand champion, ensuring the Williams brand is represented correctly and consistently across all content output Skills and experience required: Proven experience working in events and guest experience Strong knowledge of sim racing hardware, Esports rigs and software Aptitude for hardware/software with a willingness to learn about racing sims Experience working with children and young adults and ability to pass a DBS background check An aptitude for public speaking Strong balance of creative flair, eye for detail and project organisational skills Ability to work flexibly with a positive can-do attitude An enthusiastic self-starter, with the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment Strong problem solving abilities with the ability to use initiative to ensure deadlines are met on time to a consistently high standards. This role may require flexible and unsociable working hours and some travel, depending on the event calendar. What can Williams offer?
