We are looking for Utility Arborists to join our busy team! You will be part of a team working on a cyclical tree cutting programme near the SSE distribution network.
You will:
1. Work to a tight schedule, managing trees and vegetation across various sites and voltage levels.
2. Prioritise safety in all tasks, collaborating with your team to evaluate and carry out tree cutting activities.
3. Support emergency response efforts by helping remove or trim trees during high winds and storms to prevent power outages.
4. Make a real impact in keeping the lights on and ensuring the reliability of the power supply during all weather conditions.
In addition to your daily role, during high winds and storms, trees can contact our equipment and cause power cuts, and so we cut them down or trim them back to keep the lights on.
You will have:
1. Previous experience in forestry, arboriculture, or a closely related field.
2. Relevant NPTC certificate units for the use of chainsaws, and a qualification including NPTC UA.
3. Enthusiasm and drive with a flexible approach to work and an ability to adapt to changing business and project priorities.
4. Experience of working with power lines, and climbing would be highly advantageous.
5. A high regard for safety, embedding yourself in our safety culture and adhering to guidelines in everything you do is a key priority.
