Job Title: Progress Coach (Part-Time, Fixed Term)
Location: Surrey, Surrey International Study Centre
Salary: £13,000 per annum
Contract Type: Part Time (18.75 hours/week) – Fixed Term (until 31/08/2027)
About the Role
The Progress Coach supports students' progression needs both face-to-face and online. Responsibilities include delivering tutorial sessions, providing 1-1 support and guidance on academic studies, and developing activities to help students build skills and confidence outside the classroom for their transition to Higher Education (HE).
Key Responsibilities
1. Act as a personal tutor to deliver Academic Success tutorials and offer personal development, academic, and progression counselling.
2. Collaborate to design and create learning materials on study skills, welfare, and employability topics.
3. Maintain and update the virtual learning environment, integrating digital learning technologies.
4. Implement interventions related to attendance, in line with the Attendance Policy, and accurately record data.
5. Monitor student performance, liaise with academic teams to develop intervention strategies, and maintain progression records.
6. Track student destination offers; refer students to the Extended Progression Team for alternative options if needed.
7. Gather data on work completion through VLE analytics to identify gaps and plan actions.
8. Support students' mental and physical health, liaising with the Student Wellbeing Team as necessary.
9. Keep student records current and accurate.
10. Assist in organizing wellbeing, enrichment, transition events, and manage general student queries via various communication channels.
11. Work with the team to organize registration, induction, activities, and support team members.
12. Ensure timely and professional communication with external stakeholders such as parents, sponsors, and partner universities.
About You
* Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience demonstrating independent working and thinking abilities.
* Experience supporting students in an educational setting.
* Experience creating engaging content and delivering workshops.
* Experience collaborating with external partners to facilitate activities.
* Experience facilitating the 'student voice' and using feedback mechanisms.
* Experience working in regulated environments and customer service roles.
