Job Title: Mechanical Supervisor

The Role:
We are seeking an experienced and highly motivated Mechanical Supervisor to lead and oversee the mechanical installation and maintenance activities on a water treatment plant project in London. This is a contract-based position, offering a challenging and rewarding opportunity to contribute to a vital infrastructure project.
Key Responsibilities: Mechanical Installation: * Oversee the installation and assembly of mechanical systems within the water treatment plant, including pumps, valves, piping, filters, and other related equipment.
* Ensure all installations are carried out according to project specifications, drawings, and industry standards.
* Coordinate with other trades and subcontractors involved in the installation process. Maintenance and Repair:
* Supervise the preventive and corrective maintenance of mechanical systems, including troubleshooting issues, repairing damaged parts, and ensuring optimal system performance.
* Develop and implement maintenance schedules and procedures.
* Ensure the availability of spare parts and materials for maintenance activities. Quality Control:
* Enforce quality control standards throughout the installation and maintenance processes.
* Inspect completed work to ensure it meets project specifications and safety requirements. Safety and Compliance:
* Maintain a high level of safety awareness and adherence to all safety regulations and procedures.
* Ensure that all work is performed in a safe and compliant manner, complying with relevant industry standards and regulations.
* Conduct safety briefings and toolbox talks with the team.
* Implement a strong safety culture on site. Team Management:
* Supervise a team of mechanical fitters and technicians, providing guidance and support.
* Delegate tasks effectively and ensure the team is properly equipped and trained.
* Maintain clear communication with the team and project stakeholders. Documentation:
* Maintain accurate records of work performed, including daily logs, inspection reports, and material usage.
* Prepare progress reports and updates for the project manager.
Required Qualifications and Experience: Essential: * Valid CSCS Card (Construction Skills Certification Scheme)
* Minimum of 5 years of experience as a Mechanical Supervisor in a water treatment or related construction environment.
* Proven ability to lead and manage teams in a fast-paced project setting.
* Strong understanding of mechanical systems, including pumps, valves, piping, and filtration equipment.
* Excellent knowledge of industry standards, safety regulations, and quality control procedures.
* Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and specifications.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills. Desirable:
* Experience with specific water treatment technologies (e.g., reverse osmosis, filtration, disinfection).
* Welding qualifications (if applicable).
* First Aid certification.
