Job Purpose
We are the EssenceMediacom Worldwide Paid Social team, servicing both centrally executed campaigns in multiple languages as well as coordinating and supporting strategic directions across markets. We work on a mix of blue-chip clients for both direct and brand led initiatives including but not limited to: The Coca Cola Company, EY, Dell, adidas, Bayer and Mars.
We are looking for a driven and enthusiastic Paid Social specialist to join EssenceMediacom Worldwide as a Paid Social Senior Associate Director. This role offers the opportunity to work on Mars, among other major global brands, and will involve the creation and execution of Paid Social strategies. Client servicing to the highest standards is an integral element to this role, not only to serve existing clients, but to also grow new business pipelines. It will also involve the management of team members, nurturing their paid social skill sets, with the expansion of further resources based on client successes. You will need a proven track record in paid social, ideally for a blend of direct response and brand client base, having worked in the delivery of paid social strategy and operations, managing individuals, and fostering strong client relationships.
The successful candidate will be able to develop their career with EssenceMediacom as they will be enabled to continually improve and expand on their paid social skills, with growth opportunities both upwards and sideways. The candidate will also have the opportunity to work across a diverse client base and help to shape and inform client strategy.
Accountabilities include:Strategic Skills
* Ensuring that Social best practice and frameworks are adhered to and be able to demonstrate continued account evolution.
* Understanding and advising on the difference between brand vs direct response campaigns.
* To understand Social within the wider marketing mix, its strategic importance throughout the customer journey.
* Create/design Social biddable media strategy for client portfolio with account directors and managers.
* Ensure strategy is clear and most appropriate to the client's objectives and KPIs with managers.
* Ensure the quality of delivery and that strategy is effectively implementable by the team.
* To identify areas of, and present back, opportunities (or limitations) that exists for the clients' business. Seeking opportunities to innovate.
* Build and maintain relationships with social tools and third-party technology partners.
* Build and own relationships with media owners including Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit, LinkedIn and others.
Client Account Management
* Ultimate responsibility of client interaction and the success of the relationship, with a focus on key strategic relationship, and team operations/deliverables.
* Agree and set business objectives for each client and review campaign performance against these objectives.
* Create/design paid social strategy for client portfolio, ensuring strategy is clear and most appropriate to the client's objectives and KPIs.
* Proactively educating clients and key internal stakeholders, reviewing, re-purposing, building, and delivering educational material for the benefits of your client base.
* Oversee the team in their delivery ensuring that paid social strategy and trading best practice and frameworks are adhered to, and that the team is able to demonstrate continued account evolution.
* Train and support specialists to increase knowledge across the department.
* Take ownership of client’s paid social strategic approach, campaign planning, implementation and reporting, as well as the client relationship.
* Build and maintain relationships with priority and preferred technology partners.
* To identify areas of growth opportunities (or limitations) that exists for the team and clients’ business and generate business plans for their development.
Operating and Technical Requirements
* The effective day-to-day running of the accounts that sit within it.
* Financial accuracy, through the planning and buying process, and reconciliation of spends, including client terms and paid social fees.
* The integration and understanding of other digital channels within the wider context of client business and media mix, by both internal and external stakeholders.
* The appropriate use of tools to drive accountability, operational efficiencies and actionable business insights; with the scoping of costs and agreed client outputs.
* Act responsibly and professionally at all times, representing the team, department and company.
* Be responsible for 100% financial accountability on clients’ business.
* Drive revenue growth through spotting new opportunities and delivering excellent results.
People Management
* Manage, motivate and train individuals, in line with business requirements, resource, and development needs.
* Ensure individuals workloads are managed and prioritised in line with client needs.
* Support and nurture junior employees, ensuring their training and development needs are constantly evaluated and fulfilled.
* Clearly outline tasks and objectives with the Business Director, setting specific deliverables and timelines for progression.
* Have identified training requirements with Line Manager, and a formal plan for delivery over 3-6 months.
* Be responsible for the team’s development (their 360’s and task & objectives), and to be tied into their own objectives.
* Manage the day to day running of the team with the support of the Account Directors.
* Oversee and maintain strong relationships with offshore EM paid social specialists, ensuring seamless collaboration, smooth operations, and consistent delivery that meets client expectations.
* Foster a collaborative working environment where the team works closely with the Planning teams and other key stakeholders, ensuring open communication, continuous feedback, and alignment toward shared business goals.
* Highlight great teamwork, and client initiatives, showcasing Social best practices to the wider team and contributing to the department and agency through case studies and industry award submissions.
* Diarise weekly catch-ups, and regular task reviews.
* Complete weekly time sheets, holiday/sickness forms, CPD.
New business
* Support Head of Paid Social responding to RFIs and RFPs.
* Participate in pitches and help with new business wins.
* Identify areas of possible business growth within existing client base; Up-selling and cross-selling.
* Establish and maintain relationships with key decision makers in order to secure new business.
A bit about your skills and experience:
* A proactive and determined individual who constantly challenges briefs and pushes for excellence in both paid social strategy and team management.
* A deep understanding of the paid social landscape, coupled with a strong passion for social media, content, and creative best practices. Additionally, understanding of organic and earned media and how all elements integrate to drive the best outcomes for clients.
* Proven knowledge and experience in Paid Social, consistently seeking ways to drive better performance and innovation.
* Experience of Paid Social tools, campaigns delivery and participate actively in Paid Social discussions with clients and internal teams.
* High level of expertise in optimizing digital media across one or more platforms, including Meta, TikTok, Snapchat, Pinterest, Reddit, LinkedIn, and others, always testing and refining strategies to maximize impact.
* Deep knowledge and commitment to continued improvement in quality, brand safety and viewability across clients campaigns.
* Ability to proactively discuss and challenge briefs, ensuring that all new campaign elements and reporting requirements are clearly defined and executed while effectively managing status reporting upwards for successes and challenges.
* Strong leadership in overseeing the team’s planning, management, optimization, and reporting of both direct response and brand advertising campaigns, ensuring best-in-class execution.
* A strategic thinker with a strong understanding of the role of paid social media within the broader marketing mix, recognizing its importance at different stages of the customer journey and its impact on overall performance.
* Reporting experience and understanding of analytics tools.
* Strong project management skills with an efficient approach, ensuring effective prioritization, strategic delegation, and achievement of key objectives.
* Excellent written & verbal English language skills/grammar; a strong communicator.
