The role:
Capital Dynamics (CD) seeks to hire a Carry & Co-Investments Manager to join the Finance Team in London.
The role will oversee fund financing and 'carried interest' administration operations. The successful candidate will become a key member of the finance team and will oversee the work delivered by our third-party fund administrators.
The role requires strong general fund accounting experience, knowledge of carried interest accounting/calculations, having worked within the private equity or asset management sector.
Key Responsibilities:
* Oversee the production of carried interest calculations and reporting for all Capital Dynamics funds, in collaboration with CD fund operations and the third-party fund administrator.
* Work alongside tax experts to ensure legal, tax, and regulatory requirements for CD funds are met.
* Review of net asset value (NAV) calculations.
* Support LPA monitoring, compliance, and refinement of existing and new terms for new fund vehicles.
* Work with CD third-party fund administrator to maintain accurate loan and credit facilities.
* Prepare financial statements of intermediate holding entities liaising with our fund administrator.
* Liaise closely and effectively with our fund administrator to prepare audited annual accounts, coordinate the audit process, and manage and discharge audit queries.
* Lead the preparation and timely filing of tax returns for all CD fund entities, ensuring compliance with local and international tax laws.
* Support of US federal tax processes including K1 / 1065, K2, and K3 filings.
* Ensure all relevant tax compliance obligations for investment funds in domiciled jurisdictions.
* Ongoing monitoring and assessment of new legislative changes to advise on the group operations and potential impact on the fund tax structure.
* Support the preparation of accounting, tax, and reporting for CD employee investment vehicles.
Key Attributes & Qualification:
* Qualified Accounting (ACA / ACCA / CIMA or equivalent). Extensive knowledge of account standards - IFRS, US GAAP, and UK GAAP is beneficial.
* Min of 6 to 8 years’ experience, with at least the last 4 working in a private equity firm or similar financial services organization – i.e. Venture Capital, Asset Management, etc.
* Proven track record in fund administration/fund accounting.
* Experience in carried interest accounting and calculation is ideal.
* Solid technical and working knowledge of the topics of fund legal documents and fund oversight model.
* Strong understanding of private company securities and legal/structural preferences, and modeling abilities.
* The ability to document, justify, and demonstrate complex fund finance, accounting, and fund operation matters.
* Ability to analyze and organize large amounts of data in an efficient manner.
