Project Quantity Surveyor

Due to a period of growth, we are excited to be recruiting a Project Quantity Surveyor to work in our prestigious Civil Engineering business.
About the role of Project Quantity Surveyor
Reporting to the Senior / Managing Quantity Surveyor, you will be a fundamental member of the team with a range of responsibilities, such as managing the procurement, commercial and contractual aspects in relation to construction projects. The key areas you will be concentrating on will be the procurement of sub-contractors, preparation and submission of external applications for payment, identification, pricing and agreement of change, valuation and agreement of sub-contractor accounts and the commercial management of projects. This is an exciting time for our client, and we want you to be a valued member of the team whilst working on a range of varied projects and supporting our clients.
Responsibilities for Project Quantity Surveyor
1. Pursue personal development of skills and knowledge necessary for the effective performance of the role.
2. Comply with Company rules, policies and procedures at all times including those relating to data protection and information security.
3. Carry out any other reasonable tasks which may be required from time to time and to enable the company to remain adaptable to changing markets and needs.
4. Management of sub-contractor procurement.
5. Attend sub-contractor Pre-Contract meetings.
6. Preparation of formal sub-contract Agreements.
7. Measurement of works.
8. Management of legal issues and disputes.
9. Management of important commercial issues.
10. Management of sub-contractor interim accounts.
11. Agreement of sub-contractor final accounts.
12. Budgetary control including monitoring of costs and the prompt identification and management of overspend.
13. Submission of monthly CVR.
14. Submission of monthly Profit and Loss reports.
15. Preparation and presentation of Commercial and Post-Contract Reviews.
16. Management and submission of external Applications for Payment.
17. Identification, pricing and settlement of Compensation Events, variations and additional works.
18. Agreement of Client final accounts.
19. Supervision and training of junior members of staff.
20. Attendance at staff appraisals.
21. Convene and attend internal team meetings.
22. Attend Client and Design meetings as required.
23. Convene and attend sub-contractor meetings as required.
Requirements for Project Quantity Surveyor
It is essential that you hold a BSc, NVQ4 or MSc qualification along with a relevant CSCS card. You will be an excellent communicator and have the ability to motivate and influence with ease. In addition, you will be a natural problem solver with exceptional commercial acumen and a confident decision maker. It is essential that you have a solid understanding of construction techniques and processes, along with an excellent understanding of various forms of Method of Measurement and standard engineering contracts as well as having the appreciation and willingness to adopt Value engineering principles. Finally, you will have excellent IT skills and enjoy working in a positive and thriving environment.

£55,000 - £65,000 p/a base salary
£6150 car allowance & free on-site parking
