About the Job
As Commercial Development Manager, your role will be to drive commercial value into Transport and Distribution through the delivery of organic, efficiency and new business growth. This role will work closely with operational and planning stakeholders within Transport, whilst forging an integral interface with internal Sales and Business Development functions.
Key Responsibilities
1. Take ownership of opportunity management for Transport, to ensure sincere and appropriate responses.
2. Develop strategic and targeted revenue opportunities.
3. Produce data to be shared with Sales and Business Development functions to ensure we are targeting appropriate sales opportunities.
4. Work with partners from across the business to develop and deliver leading-edge concepts for optimising Transport.
5. Work with business leaders to develop and prioritise a growth plan for Transport and Distribution.
6. Support the digital agenda within Transport in order to increase visibility, which in turn identifies collaboration across customer opportunities.
7. Identify opportunities within existing customers to offer closed book lanes rates by merging transport activity.
8. Lead initiatives to drive value creation by utilising assets on non-contracted during periods of inactivity.
9. Communicate in a clear, precise, and regular format with all partners and stakeholders, including ongoing project status reports.
10. Own metrics and performance indicators related to initiatives to measure overall performance and provide foundation for value creation.
11. Work with Finance partners to develop pricing templates to ensure swift and appropriate commercial responses are delivered.

6. A thorough understanding of key commercial levers within a transport operational environment will be essential.
